Our jewelry is designed to withstand water, showers, the beach and exercise without losing its color. It is resistant to water and daily wear thanks to the PVD coating (Physical Vapor Deposition), which is a type of surface treatment. PVD treatment is created by exposing steel to high pressure and temperature, which creates an additional coating on the metal. Our jewelry is both PVD-treated with gold color or with real 18K gold.
The difference between gold plating and PVD coating?
PVD-treated jewelry is 10 times more durable than jewelry that is only gold-plated in a traditional way, which is an electrochemical process. The gold plating gives a beautiful color but it is thin and sensitive to liquids and shocks. PVD-treated jewelry has beautiful color and is very resistant to shocks, liquids and scratches.
Hypoallergenic jewelry
Our jewelry is made of stainless steel and is PVD-coated. Stainless steel is a popular material for jewelry because it is inherently hypoallergenic and resistant to corrosion. The PVD coating enhances durability and protects the jewelry but does not affect the hypoallergenic properties of stainless steel. This makes PVD-coated stainless steel jewelry an excellent choice for people with sensitive skin or nickel allergies.
